Christmas , Entertainment , Holiday Nov 09, 2017 No Comments

If you donโ€™t have the time, energy or money to host a copious and abundant dinner for your squad or any one at all, if you are far away from your family or even if you simply just can’t handle people right now, there are still some things you can do to make Thanksgiving at least a little bit productive.

We get you and we’ve got you. Here are some ideas on how you can make Thanksgiving a productive day besides couch potating.

1. Craft some cute furniture for your cat or just for fun โ›

A couple of wooden boards, cartons, old blankets, and some rope should be enough to let you expand your imagination for your cute feline friend. Don’t have a cat? Look up for some DIY home furniture which will be as equivalently therapeutic.

2. Organize your books.. if you have any (skip to 3 if you don’t) ๐Ÿ“š

Organizing has scientifically been proven to improve moods. Sort your books by color, by size, by your favourites or by displaying the most beautiful covers. Or you could also just read one.

3. Create a planner and hopefully, finally be able to keep your new yearโ€™s resolution for 2018 ๐Ÿ“…

2017 is nearing its end and it’s just about the perfect time to rediscover yourself (again). Journalling or scrapbookingย  will help you relax, stay focused and organized. This activity will also inevitably develop your artistic side while exercising your right brain. Get your markers and a notebook out, itโ€™s time to put your mind in order, literally.

4. Learn something new ๐Ÿ”ฎ

You may be surprised of how acquiring new knowledge can change the course of your day. Watch a documentary on YouTube, download some podcasts (and listen to them of course), read a book or Google up some history on Wikipedia. If you’ve always had that one thing you wanted to know more about, this is time to do it, bruh.

5. Take care of your skin ๐ŸŒž

Don’t own expensive skincare or one of those luxurious stem cell masks? That’s OK. Just go au naturale and use what you have in your fridge already, ie. milk, yoghurt, eggs, olive oil, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, cucumber or lemon juice. There are plenty of easy recipes you can find on the web to pamper yourself without spending all your savings at the spa.

For example, check out this easy peasy DIY olive oil and sugar scrub by beauty mogul, Michelle Phan here.

6. Redecorate your home ๐Ÿก

You may be surprised at how home decorating can lift up your mood; or how rearranging your furniture can change the vibes of your living space. Try it and let us know how it goes in the comments below.

7. Finally attempt making your (or just A) grannyโ€™s pumpkin pie recipe. ๐ŸŽƒ

Brownies, cupcakes, chocolate chip muffins and such… BAKE IT. And of course, indulge away after.
